The Lo de Perla Orchidarium is a lovely garden by the sea in San Pancho, Riviera Nayarit, specifically in Rancho Las Lomas about an hour away from Puerto Vallarta.
The variety of orchids and other exotics that grow in this paradise are a delight for nature lovers. The Orchidarium is tucked between the Jungle Garden and the beautiful beaches of San Pancho, Nayarit, and it’s one of the Riviera Nayarit’s can’t-miss hidden gems.
The Lo de Perla Jungle Garden was created by visionary and nature lover, Alejandro de Perla, who has earned the nickname “Lord of the Orchids.”
A tour through this incredible jungle paradise lasts approximately 3 hours and though at first it might seem challenging, by the time you finish you’ll find it was easier than you thought, since the trails are well kept and there are several resting areas.
WANT TO VISIT THE ORCHIDARIUM?
You have to go to San Pancho to Bodega 3, which is the meeting point for visitors. From there they are taken to the town of Las Lomas, where there’s a three kilometer trail to the entrance of the orchidarium.
What to wear and what to take on tour:
- Tennis shoes and comfortable boots
- Insect repellent
- Long sleeves and long pants
- Cap or hat
Lo de Perla is a non-profit garden and cares for nature from its own funds, which is why tips and donations to help support the project are very welcome.
