Walking distance from several of the fine Marina area resorts and only 5 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, is the Marina Vallarta Golf Course. The course is open to the public and because of its convenient location, sees the most use of any of the area’s courses.
This 18 hole, 6701 yard par-71 Joe Finger course is set in the lush tropical trappings of the upscale Marina area of nearby Puerto Vallarta. Opened in 1989, this exotic location offers you the opportunity to golf in the company of white herons, ducks, sand cranes, iguanas and the occasional crocodile… while the ambiance is great, you may not want to go too far looking for lost balls. This admirable Finger design offers many water shots and the 13th hole borders Banderas Bay. The views are great and the play is challenging but forgiving. Joe Finger’s designs are all about control, and this course is no exception. Anyone trying to power their way through this course will find it implacable, but those who play with finesse will find a rewarding experience that culminates in the 18th hole, a 418 yard par-4 with a challenging approach shot that must find its way under the trees and over the obstacles. A tough approach, to be sure, but in this setting, you may not care… Just one more thing to make this a memorable round of golf.
The course includes a full-service clubhouse with restaurant, lounge and full service pro-shop. Also, there is a fine driving range and putting green.
