Vista Vallarta Golf Club - Nicklaus Course
Vista Vallarta Golf Club boasts 2 championship courses; one was designed by Jack Nicklaus and the other by Tom Weiskopf. Opened in 2001 to wide critical acclaim, these two signature courses offer stunning views of the Sierra Madre Mountains and Banderas Bay. Vista's history is short, but distinguished, having hosted the 2002 EMC World Cup, with players like Phil Mickelson, David Toms, Mike Weir, and Vijay Singh topping the bill. In April of 2001, soon after the opening of the Nicklaus course the property also hosted the Ford U.S. Collegiate Golf Championships, an event previously won by Tiger Woods, and was televised on ESPN2. The Vista property also boasts full practice facilities, a pro shop, a luxurious clubhouse, and a fine restaurant.
Nicklaus Course
The Jack Nicklaus course is 7,057 yards and par-72. Situated on the higher ground of the property, this course is noted for its breathtaking vantage and its challenging play. The open fairways on this course belie the well guarded and rolling greens. You'll look forward to playing the par-5 3rd; a challenging 550 yard throw that will take everything you've got to get to the green in 3, but the view of the Marina and Banderas Bay from the top will have you taking a well deserved break to take it all in. The 18th is another photo op from the tee and a 445 yard par 4 dogleg left down into a well guarded green. Those who par this signature hole go home with well deserved bragging rights.
